Intermediate Target

Final goals such as inflation and growth respond to policy slowly and are observed with a lag. Central banks therefore watch an intermediate target that responds faster and is closely linked to the final goals. Common choices are a monetary aggregate (such as broad money), the exchange rate or an inflation forecast.

NRB: Monetary Policy 2082/83 and 2083/84 keep the pegged exchange rate of the Nepali rupee with the Indian rupee as the intermediate target, serving as the nominal anchor. NRB also projects broad money and private sector credit growth each year as indicative guides consistent with this framework.

The operating target (weighted average interbank rate) is managed day to day so that monetary conditions remain consistent with maintaining the peg and reaching the final goals.

मुद्रास्फीति र वृद्धि जस्ता अन्तिम लक्ष्यले नीतिमा ढिलो प्रतिक्रिया दिन्छन् र ढिलो देखिन्छन्। त्यसैले केन्द्रीय बैंकले छिटो प्रतिक्रिया दिने र अन्तिम लक्ष्यसँग नजिकबाट जोडिएको अन्तरिम लक्ष्य हेर्छ, जस्तै विस्तृत मुद्रा, विनिमय दर वा मुद्रास्फीति प्रक्षेपण।

राष्ट्र बैंक: मौद्रिक नीति २०८२/८३ र २०८३/८४ ले नेपाली रुपैयाँको भारतीय रुपैयाँसँगको स्थिर विनिमय दर लाई अन्तरिम लक्ष्य र नाममात्रको अङ्कुशका रूपमा यथावत् राखेका छन्। राष्ट्र बैंकले विस्तृत मुद्रा र निजी क्षेत्रतर्फको कर्जा वृद्धिको प्रक्षेपण पनि मार्गदर्शकका रूपमा गर्छ।

सञ्चालन लक्ष्य (भारित औसत अन्तरबैंक दर) लाई दैनिक व्यवस्थापन गरी आबद्धता कायम राख्न र अन्तिम लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न अनुकूल मौद्रिक अवस्था बनाइन्छ।
