Privacy policy

BankingTayari is an exam-preparation service for candidates sitting banking and public-service papers in Nepal. When this policy says “we”, it means the operators of BankingTayari; “you” means the person using the service.

We collect only what the service needs to work:

• Account details. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — never your Google password.
• Study activity. The quizzes and mock exams you attempt, the answers you give, your scores, streaks and the readiness figures we calculate from them. This is the substance of the product: without it we cannot tell you what to study next.
• Your own content. Notes, reminders and the exam and bank you select during setup.
• Notification tokens. If you allow notifications, a device token so reminders and results can reach you.
• Technical data. Ordinary server logs — IP address, browser or app version, and timestamps — kept for security and debugging.

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, financial account numbers, citizenship or passport documents, or any other sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To score your attempts and build the readiness picture and study plan that the service exists to provide.
• To send the messages you have asked for: results, reminders, and password or verification emails.
• To keep the service working — diagnosing faults, preventing abuse, and protecting accounts.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your study activity for advertising.

We use a small number of service providers who process data strictly on our instructions:

• Database and hosting — to store your account and study records.
• Email delivery — to send verification, password reset and notification emails.
• Push notifications — Google Firebase, to deliver reminders to your device.
• Google Sign-In — only if you choose to use it.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Nepal, so your data may be stored or processed abroad. We will also disclose data where the law requires it.

We set one essential cookie, which keeps you signed in. We also store your theme choice in your browser. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this service.

Your account and study history are kept while your account is open, because your readiness figures are built from your full attempt history. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, keeping only what we are legally required to retain. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.

• Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correct anything inaccurate — your name and email can be changed in the app.
• Ask us to delete your account and its data.
• Turn off notifications at any time, in the app or in your device settings.

Write to [email protected] from the address on your account and we will action it.

Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form, and traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit. No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you, tell you in the app.
