goAML
goAML सफ्टवेयर
Also called goAML Software
goAML is the financial intelligence software developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) that FIU-Nepal uses to receive and analyse STR, SAR and TTR reports electronically.
Explained
goAML replaces paper or email reporting with structured electronic reports that the FIU can analyse and link.
NRB Directive 19 makes it mandatory:
- BFIs must keep customer details up to date in the core banking system and submit TTR, STR and SAR only through goAML (Production Environment), as required by Rule 36 of the 2081 Rules (point 11).
- TTRs within 15 days, STRs immediately and SARs within 3 days, all through goAML.
- Reports must follow the goAML Operational Guidelines issued by the FIU.
- NRB inspects whether BFIs report through goAML with proper systems.
Exam questions sometimes ask who developed goAML: the answer is UNODC.
