Mutual EvaluationMER
Also called Mutual Evaluation Report, Peer Review
A mutual evaluation is a peer review in which experts from other member countries assess a country's technical compliance with the FATF Recommendations and the effectiveness of its AML/CFT system.
Explained
Mutual evaluation is one of the APG's primary functions. Members must commit to participate in the programme. Each assessment rates:
- technical compliance with the 40 FATF Recommendations (compliant, largely compliant, partially compliant, non-compliant);
- effectiveness against 11 immediate outcomes (high, substantial, moderate, low).
After adoption, the country goes through follow-up reporting; weak results can lead to FATF review and grey listing.
Nepal: the APG conducted Nepal's third-round mutual evaluation, published in 2023. NRB's Monetary Policy 2082/83 committed to implement, with top priority, the Priority Actions and Recommended Actions for regulators in that report.

- FATF का ४० सिफारिसको प्राविधिक अनुपालन (पालना, धेरैजसो पालना, आंशिक पालना, पालना नभएको);
