C-ASBAC-ASBA

Under ASBA, the money for a share application is not transferred to the issuer immediately. It stays in the investor's bank account but is blocked, so the investor continues to earn interest. After allotment, only the amount for allotted shares is debited, and the remainder is released.

C-ASBA, rolled out by CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC), centralised this process:

1. The investor obtains a CRN (C-ASBA Registration Number) from a participating bank or financial institution.
2. The investor gets MeroShare login credentials from the Depository Participant (DP) where the demat account is held.
3. Applications for IPOs, FPOs and right shares are made online through MeroShare, which verifies the demat account number (BOID) before acceptance.

C-ASBA reduced invalid applications caused by wrong BOIDs and made allotment and refund much faster than the earlier manual process. Banks that are C-ASBA members act as the blocking banks. Investors can use C-ASBA only if their bank provides the facility.

आस्बामा शेयर आवेदनको रकम तत्काल निष्काशनकर्तालाई नजाई लगानीकर्ताकै बैंक खातामा रोक्का रहन्छ, त्यसैले ब्याज पाइरहन्छ। बाँडफाँटपछि पाएको शेयरको रकम मात्र कट्छ र बाँकी फुकुवा हुन्छ।

सीडीएससीले सुरु गरेको C-ASBA मा:

१. सहभागी बैंक वा वित्तीय संस्थाबाट CRN (C-ASBA दर्ता नम्बर) लिने। २. डिम्याट खाता रहेको निक्षेप सदस्य (DP) बाट मेरो शेयर लगइन लिने। ३. मेरो शेयरमार्फत IPO, FPO र हकप्रद शेयरमा अनलाइन आवेदन दिने; प्रणालीले BOID प्रमाणित गर्छ।

यसले गलत BOID का कारण हुने अमान्य आवेदन घटायो र बाँडफाँट तथा रकम फिर्ता छिटो बनायो।
