Factors of Production

Role in economic development:

• Land: Nepal's hydropower, forests and agricultural land are major assets but underused.
• Labour: a young workforce, but large-scale migration abroad creates labour shortages at home while bringing remittance.
• Capital: low domestic saving and investment limit growth; banks mobilise savings into capital formation.
• Entrepreneurship: drives innovation and job creation; access to credit, especially for small enterprises, is crucial.

Some economists add technology and organisation as separate factors. Banks act as intermediaries by channelling capital to entrepreneurs who combine it with land and labour.

आर्थिक विकासमा भूमिका:

• भूमि: नेपालको जलविद्युत्, वन र कृषियोग्य जमिन ठूलो सम्पत्ति हुन् तर पूर्ण उपयोग भएको छैन।
• श्रम: युवा श्रमशक्ति छ, तर ठूलो संख्यामा विदेश जाँदा स्वदेशमा श्रम अभाव र विप्रेषण दुवै भएको छ।
• पुँजी: न्यून स्वदेशी बचत र लगानीले वृद्धि सीमित गर्छ; बैंकले बचतलाई पुँजी निर्माणमा लैजान्छ।
• उद्यमशीलता: नवप्रवर्तन र रोजगारी सिर्जना गर्छ; साना उद्यमका लागि कर्जामा पहुँच निर्णायक हुन्छ।

केही अर्थशास्त्रीले प्रविधि र संगठन लाई पनि छुट्टै साधन मान्छन्। बैंकले पुँजी उद्यमीसम्म पुर्‍याएर मध्यस्थको भूमिका खेल्छ।
